Yes! Carrots are a great, healthy, and low-calorie (and low-fat) snack for dogs of all ages. Carrots provide an excellent source of vitamin A, potassium and fiber. Both cooked and raw carrots are perfect to share with your dog whether it's as a treat or an addition to mealtime. Because of the sugars in carrots, dogs love the taste, so your pup will love the treat!

Carrots are great for your teething puppy
Raw carrots can be a lifesaver (couch-saver?) for pet parents of teething puppies. Giving your puppy frozen carrots will soothe their aching gums and keep them from chewing unwanted items like shoes, walls, and more. They can also double as a training treat!

Overall dental health
Carrots are even great for dogs' teeth in addition to teething puppies. Carrots actually help keep your dog's teeth shiny and helps prevent any plaque build-up.

Carrots can help your dog's digestion
Packed with fiber, carrots can help improve your dog's digestive system. It can even bulk up loose stools. Be careful not to give your dog too many carrots, as it may cause gas and intestinal upset.

 

Dogs will love carrots no matter how they're prepared. Use the below preparation ideas to give carrots to your dog:

  • Steamed/Baked
