It's pretty heavy when on
I found this very heavy for our large breed dog. He couldn't live his head up. The idea is good but it's too heavy when closed on third velcro strip.

Excellent cone of shame
I got one of these and had to wear it for losing a bet 5 days with this on. Extremely easy to use I put it on a dog collar so it kept the cone from moving very comfortably and quickly applied. I do recommend this even tho I was punished with it

This is too perfect!
Bought for a dog needing oral surgery. The tech advised that the vet doesn't like most soft cones. Guess what? She really liked this one. And our dog adjusted to it within 36 hours of the surgery. The dog can walk around with it on, and she doesn't seem to care when we put it on. Plus our legs are not suffering when she walks near us. Well worth the money!

Breed Rottweiler
I have a 90 lb Rotweiller that gets into just about anything u can think of. She cut the padding of her paw down to the tissue (side of paw that they put pressure on while walking). My vet that knows my little mischievous pup and was like not sure my dog couldn’t rip it out before I even left the vet office. She also explained the area where it is cut, makes it difficult for any dog to accidentally reopen the wound just by walking around. Vet and I decided to try the stitches because the wound really required it but she had no guarantee if us being successful Keeping the stitches and wound covered When I tell u, she is my mischievous and successful destroyer if anything in her path, I mean it. I’m stressing this point so u understand how shocked I was that this “cone of shame” was the first she did not attempt to destroy, not that I don’t think she could, but here’s what she didn’t. I brought her home with the standard vet issued plastic cone and supervised her closely because I know my dog, if I can’t keep the stitches in, I will be being dealing with an severely effective wound that will require weeks to months back/forth to the vet. The plastic cone also prevented get from seeing (I read this comment) and I looked for all different brands and I did not find any that did not obstruct the dogs view. I also looked at the ones that u blow up and just wrap around the neck to prevent them from messing with the wound. If u look closely (prices range you up to 50 bucks, they are like the blow up neck support people use to sleep better on an airplane to prevent neck soreness. I was very close to buying it for the same reason it did not obstruct the dogs view. I decided against it after listening to her concerns about this type not working for dogs like mine because they can easily destroy it since it does not have sides like the cone that extend outward. I’m glad I did my research because my dog would have love to bite into it since it looks like a toy. I found comfort dog and was scared to death to take the risk on a 30 Dollar “cone of shame” that did not look long enough on the sides to prevent my dog from being able to get the side farthest away and begin her routine Path of destruction. I need to add, it was also decided to mildly sedate her to make her want to sleep more which didn’t work but the meds helped lesson her to want to chew because she loves to just chew on things, makes her happy and in her mind, it’s just a new type of chew toy. I even had to board her during the day I was working because she did need constant supervision and for me the cost was less to board then to have to pay extensive medical bills trying to treat an infected wound on the pad of her paw (just a suggestion for anyone that might relate to my angel). The vet standard “cone of shame” was a good length and it appeared strong enough she could not get to the end to begin her chewing of the cone to get to the wound. Within 5 mins with me right next to her, the vet issued cone was destroyed along with her beginning to chew through the layers of bandage, next day back to the vet to pay to have it Grayce proofed again. So I went ahead to buy the comfort cone, here I why I think it is mg magical for dogs like mine. First, (my initial prediction) I was like no way, this is not as long and her mouth had direct access to the end but then I realized why she was not chewing it. She could see more than the vet issued due to the way it’s made. Ur dog will fit through doorways and not have difficulty moving around because of the sizing, she could move much easier around the house because it was not stiff and bulky. Second, it was comfortable to lay her head down to sleep unlike the vet issued which they focused on making the length of the cone and the width as big as it can be. The vet issued cone I can’t imagine is comfortably when the stiff bottom end is wrapped around the dogs next. The vet issued is also not flexible and more natural like the comfort cone is when it is securely fit around the next. If u had to wear that, would u also want to figure a way to get it off. The comfort cones focus is the same as the stuff vet issued, but they made it so the pet could have the greatest range of distance of sight, comfort, easily move positions while sleeping, and since it’s made like with nylon, it doesn’t get too hot. In addition the hard, stiff vet issue cone, prevents the dog from evening being able to chew treat while being kept under 24 surveillance. The comfort cone actually allows the dog to chew some things while in the cone which keeps them from being bored at a much better extent (not saying it causes a little work, but it can be done by giving a 6 inch bully stick vs the 12 inch she usually gets. U need to get a thin regular collar for it because the loops connected to the collar are small so a thick wide collar will be very difficult to get through the loop without snapping the loop. This method is so simple to get on and off the dog because u are actually using a regular dog collar to ensure it stays around the dogs neck. The velcro that holding the two sides together, surprising held up and did not stretch out or allow my dog to find to chew it up. I think my dog could have definitely destroyed this cone also, but I think because it’s like the “Ferrari” of cones, they don’t do it because it’s comfortable to wear. I allowed my dog to take it off when I was around supervising her and she acted as if it was just putting back on her collar. Conclusion I think this one works because the dog likes to have a built in pillow to lay against whenever they want and the vet issued cone appears to alert them this is foreign object which does not belong to them. Worth every penny! It lasted the time it took to heal which was a month including being boarded 5 days a week due to her needing to supervised. Oh just FYI, I have ASPCA insurance and they reimbursed me for the boarding charges since she required mediation administers daily and supervise care due to location if the wound. Anyhow, if this thing is Rotweiller Proofed, it is a great investment, also she did not destroy it and it held up very well and ready to use for her next adventure! U really need to buy it to understand they can do a lot more without unrestricted freedom and the thing is comfortable to warm
