- Orijen suggests using the feeding guide below as a starting point, and monitoring your dog’s weight and adjusting amounts as needed.
- Feed your pet twice daily and always keep fresh, clean water available.
- Wright Loss Feeding Guide to be followed for a maximum of 6 months
- When switching diets, transitioning slowly will give your pet’s digestive system time to adjust to the nutrient-levels in ORIJEN. Over a 10-14 day period, gradually mix in ORIJEN, increasing the amount each day so that by the end you are feeding 100% ORIJEN.

Need to have dog loose about 4-5 pounds at least.
I have been feeding this for over a year and my dog has not lost weight. How do I achieve weight loss. I know it is my fault BUT I need your advice. She was 12 pounds when I adopted, now she is 18-19--my fault.

HIGH IN FAT!!!
My dog was body shamed at the vet. The doctor said this food is high in fat and causing my dog to gain more weight. Also the front of the bag does not advertise that the recipe is grain free.

Best ingredients in any dry food!
Best ingredients in dry food I’ve ever seen, and I have the most pickiest dog she just won’t eat dry food without adding a topper or gravy or a little bit of left over food. But she eats this one without additional work so it’s very helpful for us and very healthy for our dog!!!! I have been trying to find a dry dog food that has lots of organs and it’s not that easy to find. In the wild, the dog’s ancestors and wild dogs kill animals and the leader of the pack gets to eat the organs it is has the most nutrients. You also don’t want food with grains, or soybeans, the only time carnivores will get any plants or fruits in their diet is by eating animals that have eaten plants and fruits and they eat the intestines of those animals. Carnivores can’t digest grains, and there are things in this dog food to help with digestion, with skin sync coat, it’s so important because these dogs can only eat what YOU give them! I want to make sure my dog lives a long healthy life, the rise of cancer in pets are alarming and it’s pretty obvious it’s due to poor nutrition and if you give them the wrong foods they can’t even digest the food. I am so glad I found this food!!!! Thank you for giving us a chance to give our dogs the best life possible. My dog thanks you too!

Terrific dog food
I have been using this for my dog for 11 years and she has done exceptionally well. We found her at a week old on the beach in Mexico and didn’t think it was possible for her to survive. We tried a few other foods before starting on Orijen. She is now on Orijen Senior. She is now 65 pounds and 13 years old! She recovered from liver cancer and is doing so well!

Dog reached ideal weight!
My 12 year old Siberian Husky, Aspen, started off as an extremely picky eater when we rescued her slightly over 4 years ago. We put Aspen on orijen kibble, switching her from the raw food whole-prey diet (which I would prepare myself) because she would eat nothing else. She did great on the raw food diet, however that was pretty icky for me to prepare at times... plus it was loads of work for me and literally impossible to keep up on when traveling! Orijen kibble is the next best thing and is very similar to a raw food diet. Both my dogs love it and I have many great things to say about this dog food. As far as kibble is concerned this is the best of the best no doubts about it! I have both my senior husky as well as my husky puppy on Orijen, and all the claims are true it truly does make their fur soft and shiny !! Aspen started off on Tundra, which she liked. We bought Red Regional by mistake one day and she ended up loving that one more, so we stuck with it for awhile. Aspen started packing on pounds though... she got up to 79 pounds and vet said OK, time to lose weight! So switched her to Fit & Trim that way we didn't have to reduce portions too much. She continues loving the taste of her food. It's only been a little over a year since the switch, and she's already back down to her ideal weight range at 56 pounds!!!!! Wow, it worked!! We can up her portions now to a maintenance level, but planning to keep her on it for good. Aspen's senior checkup & bloodwork came back recently as one of the healthiest senior dogs the vet has ever seen!!!

Normally my Standard Poodles' diet has Acana Lite & Fit and Acana Ranchlands. Bosleys' ran out of 'Lite & Fit' so I bought a big bag of Origin 'Fit & Trim', thinking the difference between the cousins Acana and Orijen would not be too different: My woofers appreciated Orijens' Red in the past. They ate the first bowl of 'Fit & Trim' and then avoided it for over a month.

Perfect for Dachshund
My 5 years old Miniature Dachshund loves Fit and trim and I do too. Keeps her in shape to avoid spine problems and the ingredients are very nutritive.
