Picky eater loves this food!
I have a Maine Coon (Cleopatra)that has terrible stomach issues. She’s always had issues with vomiting. As a kitten she would climb up on her cat tree, perch on the edge, and pump her front legs up and down as if praying until she burped. Sometimes after eating her ears would start twitching and she’d start running around with what I call “the cat crazies”. The vet did bloodwork and I trialed an elimination diet, but I decided to just go ahead and start her on a hydrolyzed diet. The vet said she likely has a food allergy. She has never liked wet food but I am always worried about feeding her solely dry food as I’ve had cats with kidney failure. So I’d always try to get her to eat wet food. I tried many different brands and types of wet food. There was only one she’d eat and even then she’d only eat half on a good day. Recently she got really sick and began vomiting and lost a lot of weight. Got it under control again and the vet told me I had to stick to only hydrolyzed food. She has been on the dry z/d, so the vet gave me a prescription for the wet also. My cat loves the wet z/d! I forgot to mix it with her dry food thinking there was no way she’d eat it anyway. I was shocked when I checked and saw she’d eaten it all. It does look like a gelatin, but I don’t think it smells bad as others have said. Anyway, it’s a hit with my picky cat. She’s gaining weight and no vomiting, win!!

My devon rex loves this food
My devon rex cat Giorgio loves this food. I have had multiple devons in my life all of which have had food allergies and have needed to be on hydrolyzed diets so I'm no stranger to Hills z/d canned food. Giorgio was on a different food for a while (a non-hydrolyzed diet) that he liked but got tired of. After I switched him to this, he devours his food in a way he didn't before. I used to add a little water for my old cats, but for Giorgio I don't need to make any adjustments. He loves the food more than any other food he's eaten, bar none. He tries to eat it out of the can while I dish it on his plate !! He has regrown parts of his wavy coat that he has previously scratched off and is living his best life.

Great for itchy skin kitty!
My shelter rescue came with severe skin itching and poor thing had crusties all over! Feral rescues commonly have skin allergies and store bought food was awful for him. The vet recommended to try ZD and ever since we switched he has improved greatly! Here is a tip: take the wet food and stir in a small amount of water. Mush it up well with the water and this improves the texture,,kitty gobbles it up!

Don't stop making this!
I almost never write reviews, but I am doing so to tell Hills to never stop making this product or reformulate it. This is the first food I have found so far that my cat can tolerates and that she will happily eat. This is one of the very few wet foods that doesn't contain any gums like guar gum or agar agar. This is an ingredient I suspect my IBD cat cannot have. Please keep making this food. She is no longer eating inappropriate things, eating grass until she pukes, puking in the middle of the night, and her stools are formed and no smelly. Finally!

Found a way to make it like a mousse - my cat loves it!
This is the only food that helps my cat. This is what I do to make it more palatable. I picked a small, inexpensive food processor. For one can I mix about a teaspoon of water in mix it in the food processor. It turns the consistency to that of a mousse. My cat likes it. I also learned from someone to just warm the food in the microwave or some other way for the leftovers!

The best wet food for intestine sensibilty
This is the only wet food that works for my cat. She has an intestine sensibility and this works very well for her. She loves this food. But is a pity that it is so difficult to find online or in stores here in the Netherlands lately, and when we find is so expensive. I hope this can be solved quickly. Bella is missing a lot of this food.

Not Good and Too Pricey!
My cat with IBD has been on the z/d for quite a while. Sometimes he will eat it, other times, he wants nothing to do with it. As other reviewers have noted, the consistency is rubber like. Right now my cat is refusing to eat this stuff. There has got to be something better than this. This needs to be improved especially considering the high price for a case. Also, why not offer smaller cans? After opening a can, by the end of the day, the food is dried out. When it gets to that point, my cat really does not want it. Right now he does not want this food even mixed in with a holistic digestive canned food that he prefers.
