What are generic medications?

Generic drugs go through a rigorous multi-step approval process by the FDA that confirms the generic drug is exactly the same as the brand name medication. Ingredients in generic medication must meet extremely stringent quality standards and must show product stability and equivalency that remains consistent over the entire date range that it is given by the manufacturer, and the one that must be stamped clearly on each medication bottle.

To put it simply, all generic drugs must:

• Meet the same quality and safety standards as the name brand
• Have the same strength and effectiveness as the name brand
