How does Frontline Gold work?
Frontline Gold contains fipronil, which kills adult fleas and ticks while storing itself in your pet's oil glands to work continuously for 1 month as it's released from the hair follicles onto the skin and coat. The other two ingredients, S-methoprene and pyriproxyfen, kill the next generation of flea eggs and larvae before they develop into adult fleas.
Cautions:
For external use only. Don't use on puppies under 8 weeks of age. Don't use on cats and kittens under 8 weeks of age or weighing under 1.5 lbs.

How should Frontline Gold be applied to my pet?
Use Frontline Gold for Dogs and Puppies on dogs and puppies over 8 weeks of age and weiging 5 lbs and up. Frontline Gold for Dogs and Puppies is available as 0.67 ml applicators for use on dogs and puppies 5-22 lbs, 1.34 ml applicators for use on dogs 23-44 lbs, 2.68 ml applicators for use on dogs 45-88 lbs, and 4.02 ml applicators for use on dogs 89-132 lbs. Use Frontline Gold for Cats and kittens on cats and kittens over 8 weeks of age and weighing 1.5 lbs and up. Frontline Gold for Cats and Kittens is available as 0.5 ml applicators for use on cats and kittens over 1.5 lbs. When applying Frontline Gold to dogs, evenly empty out the contents of the tube directly onto the skin starting between the shoulder blades down the back to the base of the tail. For cats, apply the entire contents of the tube onto the skin in a single spot between the shoulder blades. Use only one applicator per treatment. Wait 24 hours for topical to fully dry before allowing your pet to bathe or swim.

Side effects of Frontline Gold may include signs of skin irritation, such as redness, scratching, or other signs of discomfort. Vomiting or diarrhea have also been reported. If your pet experiences any of these or other side effects, consult your veterinarian.

Apply the next dose as soon as you remember and resume a monthly schedule.

What should I avoid while giving Frontline Gold to my pet?
Do not use on puppies under 8 weeks of age. Don't use on cats and kittens under 8 weeks of age or weighing under 1.5 lbs. Consult with your veterinarian if your pet is elderly, pregnant, or lactating.
Frontline Gold Directions:
- Remove 1 applicator from the package and hold it in an upright position pointed away from your face.
- Push down and twist the top clockwise about 1/2 a turn to break the tube's seal. Don't remove the dispensing tip.
- For cats, position the dispensing tip on your cat's back between the shoulder blades. Use the tip to part your cat's hair so the topical is applied directly on the skin. Squeeze entire contents of the tube in one single spot.
- For dogs, position the dispensing tip on your dog's back between the shoulder blades. Use the tip to part your dog's hair so the topical is applied directly on the skin. As evenly as possible, squeeze out the contents of the tube in a line along your dog's back from the shoulder blades to the base of the tail.
For best results, use Frontline Gold as a part of a flea treatment plan, which includes treating the home, yard, and your pet.
