Vet Review | While the usual glucosamine/MSM combination products may be an important component of a comprehensive arthritis preventative and treatment program(such as the Flexadin plus product), as these conditions become more advanced over time, it is important to understand that additional supplements and/or prescription medications may be needed in our companion animals. For years, holistic veterinarians have employed collagen/cartilage products as part of this management program, and recently, this outstanding product was developed along these lines, and is backed by years of clinical studies and efficacy. I will often add this product to pets already on Flexadin plus or similar glucosamine/MSM products, especially when conditions are more advanced. The collagen in this product often significantly helps with easing stiffness and promoting mobility and flexibility in a synergistic manner with the glucosamine products. Advantages of this product include a "one size/dose fits all" formulation, as well as no loading dose required. It does require a few weeks to reach maximal effect but I have seen wonderful results with this and similar products of its kind. The chewable formulation also stays fresh much longer in the newer packaging. I give this product an overall rating of a 5. | Over the past several years there have been increased numbers of glucosamine/MSM/devil's claw combination products on the market place, and searching the various products out there, it is often difficult for animal guardians to choose between the formulations. I have personally used this product in veterinary practice for many years and have found its manufacturer to be a trustworthy and reliable supplier of supplements to both client and veterinarian. I have also found this product quite helpful as part of a comprehensive preventative approach for arthritis and stiffness in middle age and geriatric pets. It may provide symptomatic relief in pets already suffering from mild to moderate arthritis and stiffness, however once these conditions reach the moderate to advanced stages, the Flexadin Plus will not be nearly as effective or helpful, and in most cases, prescription medications will be needed to help with symptom relief. It does come in a very palatable formulation readily acceptable by most pets, and does provide an economic alternative to some of the other more expensive products of its kind. I give this product an overall rating of a 4. | I have only recently been using this excellent joint supplement, which has a tremendous combination of nutrients that help reduce inflammation and discomfort in inflamed joints when doing normal activity. You have to love the extract of blue green algae joint is one of the key components in providing joint support and stress relief, as well as helping fight free radicals that are involved in so many degenerative and cancer conditions in our pets. This product works so well because of the unique blend of glucosamine, MSM, boron, creatine, and omega 3 fatty acids, in addition to the blue green algae. I will often recommend this product even as a preventative in all senior pets, as it can improve health in so many ways besides joint function. The hypoallergenic formula is wonderful for most pets, but a formulation known as Phycox A is possible for those dogs with allergies. This is one of my favorite new products and I give it an overall ranking of 5 out of 5. |
