Vet Review | When I first saw this product introduced several years back at a holistic veterinary conference with other veterinarians, I was initially quite skeptical about all of the touted ingredients and clinical responses with this product. At the time, the product representatives also had before/after photos of dogs who had used this product, and what a huge difference it made on coat issues, digestive issues, joint issues, etc.. and I remember how we were all so excited to get back to our practices and start using this very versatile product to see if it really made a difference in dogs. And in my many years of using this product I have not been disappointed. While its main ingredient is organic flax seed as a rich source of health promoting omega 3 fatty acids, this super supplement is also chock full of other antioxidants and nutrients like green tea, lecithin, kelp and other wonderful ingredients. Together they truly provide the "missing link", which is lost in the high temperature processing and cooking of today's commercial dog foods from the supermarket and even those sold at vet offices. Dog guardians can use this product for wellness and preventative health, as well as to help manage coat/skin allergy problems, digestive issues, and joint problems. It is very economical, lasting a few months at least in mid sized dogs. The only rare side effects I have seen is occasional diarrhea in dogs sensitive to added fat to their diet, which usually can be minimized by gradually building up to final recommended dose on bag over 1-2 weeks. Occasionally a pet wont eat it, but most of my patients love the flavor. My overall rating is a 4.5. The effectiveness is a 4 and the taste is also a 4. | Another wonderful joint treat for dogs are the Greenies Joint Care Dog treats. These treats include a synergistic mixture of glucosamine, chondroitin, and omega 3 fatty acids for healthy joints. The amino acids in the product help maintain normal cartilage health. I also love the fact that these treats contain the ingredient the green-lipped mussel, which has been shown in human research trials to be effective for management of arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Additional minerals of zinc, copper and manganese also support healthy joint function and mobility. I give these tasty treats an overall rating of 4 out of 5. | I have only recently been using this excellent joint supplement, which has a tremendous combination of nutrients that help reduce inflammation and discomfort in inflamed joints when doing normal activity. You have to love the extract of blue green algae joint is one of the key components in providing joint support and stress relief, as well as helping fight free radicals that are involved in so many degenerative and cancer conditions in our pets. This product works so well because of the unique blend of glucosamine, MSM, boron, creatine, and omega 3 fatty acids, in addition to the blue green algae. I will often recommend this product even as a preventative in all senior pets, as it can improve health in so many ways besides joint function. The hypoallergenic formula is wonderful for most pets, but a formulation known as Phycox A is possible for those dogs with allergies. This is one of my favorite new products and I give it an overall ranking of 5 out of 5. |
