Vet Review | An excellent treat that can truly promote joint health and mobility in our dogs and are Joint Chewys. These wonderful treats contain multiple ingredients to promote optimal joint health. The inclusion of creatine also encourages cellular regeneration. I love the ingredient list of glucosamine, MSM and omega oils. These tasty treats are easy to administer being softer and tastier than other joint tablets. It is also reassuring to know that this product is made 100% in the USA. I give these treats an overall rating of 4.5 out of 5. | While the usual glucosamine/MSM combination products may be an important component of a comprehensive arthritis preventative and treatment program(such as the Flexadin plus product), as these conditions become more advanced over time, it is important to understand that additional supplements and/or prescription medications may be needed in our companion animals. For years, holistic veterinarians have employed collagen/cartilage products as part of this management program, and recently, this outstanding product was developed along these lines, and is backed by years of clinical studies and efficacy. I will often add this product to pets already on Flexadin plus or similar glucosamine/MSM products, especially when conditions are more advanced. The collagen in this product often significantly helps with easing stiffness and promoting mobility and flexibility in a synergistic manner with the glucosamine products. Advantages of this product include a "one size/dose fits all" formulation, as well as no loading dose required. It does require a few weeks to reach maximal effect but I have seen wonderful results with this and similar products of its kind. The chewable formulation also stays fresh much longer in the newer packaging. I give this product an overall rating of a 5. | One of the most versatile and effective products I have used in practiceis Super Joint Enhancer from 1800petmeds. I have found it both helpful in older pets with increasing stiffness and spinal or joint arthritis, but also helpful in those pets recovering from surgeries. Compared to other products on the market it is quite cost effective with its synergistic combination of glucosamine and chondroitan sulfate and MSM. While relief is sometimes seen very quickly, more commonly it takes several weeks to see results with a nutritional supplement like this. I also find that it works best when used in conjunction with other nutritional supplements for the joints such as the antioxidant proanthozone, as well as fatty acids like be well from 1800petmeds. The only disadvantages I have seen with use of this product in my experience is occasional diarrhea in sensitive pets, and even more rarely problems with sugar regulation in diabetic animals. Otherwise I highly recommend this wonderful product!!!! I give this product an overall ranking of 4.5 out of 5. |
