- Just like you, your puppy or dog is a unique individual and their feeding requirements will vary with breed, environment, age and activity.
- Use the below feeding guide as a starting point, and monitor your puppy or dog’s weight, adjusting amounts as needed.
- Feed your pet twice daily and always keep fresh, clean water available.
- SMALL & MEDIUM PUPPIES: 1 1/2-3 Months: Feed 2x the Adult amount.
- 3-6 Months: Feed 1 1/2x the Adult amount.
- 6- 11 Months: Feed 1 1/4x the Adult amount.
- GESTATION: Increase the adult daily feeding amount by 25% to 50%
- LACTATION: Feed "free choice."
- See your veterinarian regularly.

When switching diets, it’s important to transition your dog or puppy as it takes time for her digestive system to adapt to the richer nutrient levels in ACANA. Over a 5-7 day period, gradually mix in ACANA, increasing the amount each day so that by day 7 you are feeding 100% ACANA.

seems kind of commercialized
my dog liked it, but upon reading the ingredients, it's just a lot of filler where the other recipe has organs it seems a little bit more commercialized with fillers and that's not the belief I started with Arcana

Good for dogs with skin allergies
My dog who has severe allergies to poultry has been on Acana wholesome grain lamb & pumpkin for almost 3 months now. We tried so many different brands, types, and ingredients in her dog food. This has been the only one that has helped her skin return to being healthy and shiny instead of full of dandruff and constantly itching. She LOVES eating this food! Would highly recommend for dogs who have chicken/ duck allergies.

Not good for small breeds
I’ve heard wonderful things about this food. But my experience has been horrible. I don’t recommend it for small breed dogs. My two little ones have had many digestive problems. I’m taking them off this food.

Just Add Water
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our dogs weren’t overly excited about it at first, but I think that’s pretty standard when switching to a new food. We started adding some water to the dry food and that made a huge difference. By the time the bag was empty we could feed it to them dry, but still chowed down a lot more when water was added.
