About this product

What is Drontal for Cats?

Drontal is a broad-spectrum dewormer for cats and kittens to treat tapeworms, hookworms, and roundworms. Drontal is sold per tablet.

For:

Cats (weighing more than 1.5 lbs and over 1 month old)

Benefits:

  • Proven to eradicate the most common intestinal parasites
  • An easy single-dose administration. Each tablet is scored for easy breakage.
  • Can be given directly by mouth or in a small amount of food
  • Side effects occur rarely

How does Drontal for Cats work?

Drontal's active ingredients are praziquantel and pyrantel pamoate. Praziquantel works by damaging the parasite's skin internally, so the parasite disintegrates and is removed by the pet's immune system. Pyrantel pamoate is active against hookworms and ascarids and acts as a blocking agent, causing paralysis. This results in the hookworm losing its grip in the intestinal wall and is removed from the pet's system by natural process.

Cautions:

Side effects are rare, but may include loss of appetite, increased salivation, vomiting and diarrhea. Other side effects may also occur. Talk to your veterinarian about any side effect that seems unusual or bothersome to your pet. Drontal tablets are not for use in kittens less than one month old or weighing less than 1.5 pounds.

Brand Name:

Drontal (Bayer)

Generic Name:

Praziquantel and pyrantel pamoate (pra-zee-kwan'-tell)

Great Product No RX needed!
We recently took in an outdoor cat that had worms and was being treated by vet. After she slipped out of confinement we were concerned our other cats may have used same litter box. Out of extreme caution we gave all our cats drontal. I can't afford to take 8 cats to vets to be checked for worms and this saved us from a disaster. None of our cats had side effects and we weighed each one then gave them the dose that went with their weight on the chart. Fast Shipping and a fair price. Thank You! You have gained a new customer!

Great medicine great you don’t need a prescription!! For some reason, my cat that’s an indoor cat keeps getting worms. I asked the vet when I took him in for his shots no rhyme or reason there why he keeps getting them but now this is the third year in a row, and he gets him at least once a year.

Pills were a bit bigger than expected. Hard to get a 22lb cat to down three of them but they did seem to work!

Absolutely Great value for the money.
Purchased product for a stray that I am seriously worried about but still can't get near. Found a worm vomited in the water bowl. I scraped the pill into a fine powder, mixed it in with very finely chopped & shredded chicken with 1 tablespoon olive oil and ton hot water to make a delicious chicken broth. Cat gobbled it up with no issues and is doing well.

Good stuff for over the counter meds
Easy to administer. Crush the pill up and add it to their favorite food. Small amount of favorite food so you ensure they receive the full dose. It is very difficult to shove anything in a cats mouth....they just don't like you doing that. Plus, they have a rough tounge that doesn't allow anything to slide down their throat like a dog.
